Dustforce dx gog download1/14/2024 Soundtrack is really good, it's chill and memorable which contrasts well with the game. The game looks nice, objects look neat, and the animations are great. And while playing difficult levels the whole thing with the janitor cleaning leaves starts to look like a simple interpretation, and that the game is just about an object that collects and breaks stuff to gain score in a videogame space and I think this is pretty cool.Ībout some other things. Like the Downhill, the first level and Giga Difficult, one of the last levels, they both have platforms where you can stand and move, they both have objects that you need to collect or break, they both have a character that needs to do all this (the sexy dustman or dustgirl), the only difference is that one level is a chill forest and the other looks like my nightmares. And yes, maybe levels look more surreal but it's still the stuff you saw before. So, my point is the more far you go, the more challenging levels become the game slowly tells you that nothing has really changed. This all feels weird but it's still a videogame and developers know that. Even the characters are just silhouettes of the color they were represented. The game was about cleaning leaves, right? Then how did I get from a forest to a laboratory where I need to clean slimes and save scientists who are trapped in them? And then there are difficult levels that look nothing like the places where the player was before, an abstract mess of objects of the same color. Like why the levels look more like I was not supposed to be here the more challenging they get. Despite that there are still some things that made me think that maybe there is something more. The plot is that you are a janitor cleaning some leaves, that's basically it. This game has no traditional story with characters and other stuff. They are more accessible and chill, but still have some places for more experienced players to improve their time on.īelow are my thoughts on story (and my autistic rant) and I hid them, because there are some spoilers. Level design is amazing, playing golden door levels and difficult levels after earlier ones feels so different, because of the complexity and weirdness of what you are doing to complete them and even at this point there is a lot of things to try to make them more comfortable or to improve your time. I can't think of many platformers that could be on the same level. This game is like a dozen times more interesting than I thought and it became one of my favorites, and I will poorly explain why.
